Re: [Ask ] quick question about twitter
thanks for the reply!
no i don't have any "intentions"... haha XD
just want to learn how to use, and understand why twitter is so popular.
actually, i think it's a great tool for learning english,
i think i will write a post about "learning english via twitter" later XD
for me tho, i use it to learn japanese.
since japanese are known to be very sensitive about manners,
i assume they'd have some kind of unspoken rule about following.
but i guess if the japanese twitter community thought it's rude to
follow someone without greeting, most of them would've set their
account to private.
thanks again!

: If you have to request that person's permission to 'follow' him/her,
: then you might need to be poite and ask for it; if not, then
: it doesn't hurt to be polite anyway.
: However, in my opinion, it's unnecessary to greet someone you don't know
: unless you have other 'intention' such as..., uh, can't think of any now lol
: To most poeple, they really don't care if you greet them or not. Maybe
: Taiwanese people think differently...well, I think it's a cultural thing bah.
: But if you are following things like BBC / TIMES / PIZZA HUT / Roger Federer(?
: then just don't worry about it.
: I used to have a twitter account then i dumped it in 3 months. To me,
: there's nothing much you can do up there. Guess it's just me lol
: Have fun!!!
