Re: [Ask ] what is working holiday?
I have some friends did it before.
They found the information by visiting WWOOF websites.
You can check them out by searching "WWOOF" on google.
One of the groups of my friends went to France.
They worked in a farming family.
This family lives in France but they are British,
so English is their first language.
The farming family provided food and rooms
and my friends had to do farm works in the days.
Farm works include: picking up the mature fruit,
pulling out weeds such things.
They didn't have to work all the time.
According to what they told me, they had free time.
They also went to Paris and some famous places.
I think the advantage of working holiday is:
The trip will cost less.
First reason is that farming family
has provided food and room.
Second, you have to spend much time on working,
so your shopping time will be less.
My friends has gone there for over 1 month,
and they spent about 90000 NT each person
(including plane tickets)
I think its really cheap.
However, I think it is not an effective way to improve English.
If you go there with your friends,
most of time you will still speak Chinese with them.
