注意 vaunt 做動詞用的時候,是跟人的行為有關...意吹牛吹噓吹擂。
關鍵在於 call attention 這個動作..
conserve
1 : to keep in a safe or sound state : to avoid wasteful or destructive use of
2 : to preserve with sugar
3 : to maintain (a quantity) constant during a process of chemical, physical,
or evolutionary change
此字的重點在於 maintain 的意思,字根上也是這樣的意思
retire

3 : to move back : RECEDE
4 : to withdraw from one's position or occupation : conclude one's working or
professional career
5 : to go to bed

我個人認為答案應該是 vaunt : retire

意外發現兩個易混字 ingenious vs ingenuous
ingenIous

2 : marked by especial aptitude at discovering, inventing, or contriving
3 : marked by originality, resourcefulness, and cleverness in conception
or execution <an ingenious contraption>
ingenUous
1 : showing innocent or childlike simplicity and candidness
2 : lacking craft or subtlety <ingenuous in their brutality>
