V 580 81% Q 800 94% AWA 4.5 54% 我的背景是理工科系輔外文 7月中才決定要考10月的GRE 中間雖然有出國且9月中開學不過有空閒的時間都在準備GRE 1. 單字準備的是 Barron's How to Prepare for the GRE TEST 15th ed. 裡的三千單字及同學以前去補習的筆記到考試前 Barron 的單字大概至少記了8成吧我自己背單字的訣竅是 a. 用字典查字根及出處我不太會拆字根看完字根的書之後每次看到新的單字往往拆不出來而且有些字根一般字根的書可能不會介紹像是 obsequy 與 obseqious 長的超像可是意思很不一樣所以一開始超困擾的後來查到字根 sequi 是 to follow 就比較好背嘍 (我看過介紹的字根書很少談到像 sequi 這種比較冷僻的字根) obsequy 想成 to follow the dead obsequious 想成 to follow powerful people's will 另外有很多字有很有趣的典故看過之後非常容易記得像是 limerick The origin of the actual name limerick for this type of poem is obscure. Its usage was first documented in England in 1898 (New English Dictionary) and in America in 1902. It is generally taken to be a reference to the city of Limerick in Ireland, and may derive from an earlier form of nonsense verse parlour game which traditionally included a refrain that ended "Come all the way up to Limerick?" (referring to Limerick, Ireland). (取自 wiki) b. 用單字的其他意思聯想像是 zenith 也是天頂的意思這樣就很容易聯想 the most successful point in the development of something buttress 當名詞是 a brick or stone structure built to support a wall 當動詞是 to support a system, idea, argument... 雖然 buttress 比較少當名詞用但我覺得一知道名詞的意思之後動詞意義變的非常好背 2. AWA 推薦這本書 GRE CAT: Answers to the Real Essay Questions, 2nd edition by Mark Alan Stewart, J.D ISBN-10: 0768911745 ISBN-13: 978-0768911749 之前是在誠品買的我覺得裡面的範文寫的非常好 ( idea 和 language 都是) 一開始我對怎麼寫 issue 實在沒什麼概念看過裡面的範文之後才比較知道怎麼該從哪些角度思考另外我覺得多看好的文章可以讓自己寫出來的語言更精準但這可能不是短期可以累積起來的就是考試前 issue 應該練了將近 30 篇 argument 大概只有 5 篇吧 3. 其他閱讀. 填充. 計量都是靠寫考古題準備的 verbal 的考古題應該至少有寫 30 個 section 吧計量 10 多個 section 另外我覺得考試當天寫 verbal 一定要提醒自己不要太小心 XDD 平常練習的時候時間夠用可是當天在寫太仔細了想東想西想很久所以最後閱讀時間不夠就只能草草看過 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.112.4.72
