原文 This chemical method of classifying substances is interesting as an example of a logical argument. A single experiment in which a substance is decomopsed into two or more other substances or is alone formed from them proves that it is a compound; this conclusion is inescapable. The failure of such an experiment, however, does not prove that the substance is an element. It is, indeed, not possible to prove that a substance is an element by tests of this kind, no matter how many are made. It may be convenient to assume it to be an element, in case there is no evidence to the contrary; but if this is done it should not be forgetten that the assumption is not necessarily true. Q) "If a compound is decomposed, then the products of decomposed are elements." In the paragraph this idea was_____ (A)contradicted (B)implied, but not sated (C)absolutely stated (D)stated, but not implied (E)neither stated nor implied 答案是給A 但這個句型在邏輯上 是屬於imply的推論方式 而contradict 在邏輯上 句子是出現 A, and no A (我是用邏輯去看這個句子) Q)From the passange it may be inferred that_____ (A)there is no experimental way to prove that a given substance is an element (B)any substance which cannot be separated into two different substances is not a compound (C)the decomposition of a substance will never yield an element (D)there is no known way of proving a substance to be a compound (E)none of the above is true 答案給(E) 我選(B) 理由是 A single experiment in which a substance is decomopsed into two or more other substances or is alone formed from them proves that it is a compound; 這句子是由or連起來的 所以前半句為真時 整句話就為真 這句的前半句跟(B)是一樣的 以上~還有請高手解答 ^^ 謝謝 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 118.171.251.55
