大家好,我是跟rangerx一起考的同學,這篇我想幫忙補充awa的部分。 有鑑於最近的高頻題重複情況很常見,我這邊把我自己考前整理的東西貼出來 希望有幫助啦 (rangerx覺得還蠻有幫助的,他說這次作文是他準備gre以來寫最順的一次XD) 這不是模板,而是一些非常抽象,具有共通性的想法 不管遇到什麼題目,我只會用這幾組相對的概念下去寫文章 我也整理了一些例子和名言, 例子適合用來發展,或作支撐主旨句的證據 名言適合開頭或總結,最好在名言的後方再加上幾句解釋,然後再下一個主旨句 先講這些資料的使用方法: 1.看到題目先審題。抓出題目中幾組可能相對的概念或主題。  比方說,看到  The true strength of a country is best demonstrated by the willingness  of its government to tolerate challenges from it's own citizens.  就想到:政府VS人民,以及法律,以及民主。 2.想完之後,就立刻把這幾個概念和主題的主旨句(就是你要寫在該段的第一句話)  寫下來。  舉例來說,上面那個題目,我就馬上會寫下:  (1) 國家是被人民擁有的。因此必須符合公民利益才符合國家定義。 (2) 因為國家是人民的,所以國家有義務回應人民的挑戰。  然後花一點點時間把它翻譯成英文。 3.每一個主旨句想兩個例子。最好是知名人物。 4.開始動筆寫,寫完兩到三段BODY段之後,再回頭去寫INTRO和CONCLUSION段。  (1) 因為你已經寫完整篇文章的主要內容了,心情不會太緊張,     同時,整篇文章的主旨已經很清楚,可以幫助你清晰地寫出第一段。    我覺得第一段亂扯很不好 Orz 一開始就讓人感覺在湊字數相當不利啊 (2) INTRO段的寫法:重點是要在第一段的最後一句話寫下主旨句。    CONCLUSION的寫法:在該段的第一句或第二句總結前面的所有想法。    我自己都是在INTRO段講小故事,然後在最後一段下一個主旨:    限縮主題 + 明確意見 + 描繪藍圖 (謝忠理老師的說法XD)    CONCLUSION段則是:    第一句用一個名言佳句,比方說:Martin Luthur King's most famous quote..    講完這個名言佳句之後,再下一次主旨句。這個主旨句的定義是:    限縮主題 + 總結上方意見(可用分號列舉)  我每篇練習的文章都是這樣寫的,補習班老師改大約是4或4.5分 但是今天我寫的狀況不是很好,打字太慢,到時分數出來再說吧 XDD 那我準備的這些資料的目的就是讓大家把這個過程加速。 你只需要審題,想出來有哪幾組相對的概念, 馬上就可以把這些想法寫出來。英文也可以事先翻譯好。 例子我也搭配好了,大家可以自己再REPHRASE一下,不要被抓作弊。 以下是我抓出來的六組概念: (中英文意思有時不太一樣,大家最好還是自己翻譯一次比較好喔。) 1. Individual v. Society (1) 人無法脫離社會而生,人的定義是在社會中才成為人。  Men compose our society, and inevitably could not live without being in it. Nowadays, the definition of men is defined by relation and interaction, obligation and contribution between men and society. (2) 因此,人對於社會的關係,必須是積極的,對社會有正向的貢獻與互動,才能夠貢獻於自己本身。 Since we cannot live without being in a society, our attitude ought to be positive in order to contribute to it and therefore contribute to ourselves indirectly. (3) JFK's most well-known saying, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." The greatest idea this quote implies is that… (4) Evita Peron Where there is a worker, there lies a nation. 2. Science v. art (1) 科學與藝術的共通性與差異:都相信有絕對的真理。 差異在於科學是以理性、物質的方式追求真理,     但藝術以感性、精神的方式追求。 The value or purpose shared both by science and art is that the belief of absolute truth. The differences lie in their pursuing methods: science utilizes human's rational analysis and the knowledge of substance, while art utilizes the emotional expression and spiritual wisdom. (2) 然而,在人類社會當中,是否能夠貢獻社會仍然是一個重要的考慮標準。     更精確地說,能夠為人類社會帶來改變、刺激,便是可以肯定的科學與藝術。 (3) Wisdom is the abstract of the past,     but beauty is the promise of the future. Oliver Wendell Holmes (4) Men possess dreams that make them stronger. 3. History (1) 歷史是歷史事實與史家的詮釋組合而成。 History is the combination of historical facts and historian’s interpretation. (2) 歷史存在的意義是讓我們從過去的故事當中獲得教訓。     雖然有人認為人類從歷史當中學到的唯一教訓就是我們沒有學到任何教訓;     但是每一次相似的事件都是在不同的脈絡下發生,而人類終究是歷史的創造者,     必須由自己去做每一次選擇和改變。     換言之,每一次的事件都會有所不同,而有時候我們做了好的選擇、有時做了錯的選擇;     但是人類所信仰的共同價值便在這歷史事件的堆積中萃練出來。 The true value of history is to provide us a chance to learn lessons from it. However, some disagree, claiming that the only thing we have learned from history is that we never learn anything from it. Admittedly, people sometimes repeat their foolish behaviors once in a while, and make mistakes which lead to fiascos; yet, every similar event is embedded in distinct contexts, men are asked to take actions based on their knowledge and judgments only by themselves. To be more specific, “Men make history;” though the decisions we make will be proved and judged to be right, or wrong, in the coming years, the common value we share and pursue would be extracted and confirmed by the process as well. (3) Karl Marx: Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is to change it. 馬克思:重點在於改變世界,不是詮釋這個世界。 4. Law (1) 法律是思想實踐的介面。所有重要的思想和價值都會透過法律在世間實現。 (2) 法律必須同時是:社會的共識、確保少數者改變社會的守護者。 (3) Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr “The life of the law has not been logic, but experience.” He insisted that the court look at the facts in a changing society, instead of clinging to worn-out slogans and formulas (4) Martin Luther King, Jr. One who breaks an unjust law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for law. 5. Education (1) 教育的目的:啟蒙,使成為人。 The definition of education: to enlighten. To make people humane. (2) 教育必須是所有人的教育:學生不是客體,老師也不是提供服務的售貨員, 一所大學的存在必須是積極目的,而這樣的目的由教育網絡中的所有人共同定義。 Education ought to be possessed by everyone: students, professors, parents, communities, even the government and other fellow citizens (since some of our educational institutions are supported by taxpayers). Students are not just objects, while the professors are not salesmen who provide services to get paid. There must be a positive, active, energetic purpose existing in education, which is defined by everyone from educational networks. (3) Dr. Fu, “We dedicate our university to the universal values.”     傅斯年,台大地下校訓:我們貢獻這所大學於宇宙之精神 (4) John Dewey: 是杜威大大!林茂生的老師! Education is a social process. Education is growth.     Education is, not a preparation for life; education is life itself. 6. Expert (1) 社會的主體和多數人只需要一般化的知識。但是,所有一般化的知識,     也都是靠專家發展出來,長期累積而成。因此必須保留一定的空間。 (2) 專家的態度:必須貢獻於社會。     通才的態度:必須肯定專家的貢獻,不管看起來多麼沒用或奇怪。 (3) Bertrand Russell There is much pleasure to be gained from useless knowledge. (4) Leonardo da Vinci All our knowledge has its origins in our perceptions.
