Abase Demean Debase
1. Abase 貶，降低(地位、價值、身分)。abase oneself 自貶，自卑。
2. Demean 降低(身分)，損壞(人品)。 to demean oneself
3. Debase 貶損(品格等)，降低(品質)；(使貨幣)貶值。 debase the value of the
dollar 使美元貶值。 debase oneself for money 為金錢而卑躬屈膝。
例句：
This fine stage actor "abased" himself by turning to television.
(含意：loss of dignity or prestige)
The commercial endorsements "demean" the Olympics.
(含意：loss of status)
Drunkenness has "debased" him.
(強調：loss of worth or quality, and especially deterioration of moral
standards)
