HedgeSPA.com, an SMU-IIE Incubated Initiative
* Company Description *
Hedge Funds and Structured Products Advisors (HedgeSPA.com) is an SMU-IIE
(Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) incubated initiative
funded by the National Research Foundation (Singapore Prime Minister's
Office). It aims to deploy award-winning, industry-proven and
crisis-tested analytics to monitor hedge fund and structured products
investments, with an emphasis on extreme risk scenarios, such as market
and liquidity crises.
* Professional Developers *
These positions are designed for those with a passion for developing
commercial applications for use by financial institutions and their
clients. We are looking for candidates with strong backgrounds in
computer science, as well as proven experience in delivering stand-alone
applications. Prior exposure to finance, economics or statistics will be
a plus. Candidates who can demonstrate entrepreneurial spirits are
particularly encouraged to apply.
Roles:
The selected candidates will be appointed on contract for a period of one
year initially. We can design the roles to fit the selected candidates’
experience levels. Some possible roles may include the following:
- Quantitative programming professional in C or C++ with master or PhD in
a finance-related discipline, preferably with a minimum of 2 years of
experience in the financial industry.
- Experienced web-based application developer with at least 4 years of
industry experience and proven experience in Solaris/J2EE.
- System architect / Database designer / System integrator, preferably
with experience in MySQL.
- Fresh graduates in computer science or information systems with
exposures to finance/economics.
Salary:
Consummate with the experience and qualifications. Since this is a
spin-off initiative, successful employees may qualify for permanent
employment upon completion of the first year of employment. Depending on
merits, some may also qualify for a yet to be determined form of equity
participation.
