The BMC Firmware Engineer is responsible for working with the customer to
develop and implement Baseboard Management Controller firmware requirements.
You will use your strong development and debug skills working across multiple
function teams to develop BMC SW to the customer’s specifications and to
resolve challenging issues.
You must be a team player capable of working across multiple function teams
to ensure delivery of successful products. As one of the first on this team,
we are looking for experienced talented professionals with the following
skills and abilities:
Work with cross-functional teams (i.e. EE, BIOS, PA, FW) to develop and
deliver a successful server BMC
Create BMC images and release notes
Drive resolution of customer reported BMC and HW/FW issues
Role Requirements
Embedded linux preferred
Knowledge of SoC/ARM/AST2x00 a plus
Experience working with AMI/Avocent SDK a plus
Use of IPMI 2.0 and Server hardware architecture a plus
A drive to creatively seek methods for optimizing BMC designs and minimizing
cost
Must be familiar with, and able to operate, a wide range of electronic test
equipment
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to
evaluate the long term implications and consequences of potential solutions
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to
contribute ideas and insights into project decisions
Strong verbal and written communication skills required for sharing ideas
with other departments and the customer
Office-based role, fast-paced work environment
