4. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Face-to-face communication is better than other types of communication, such as letters, email, or telephone calls. Use specific reasons and details to support your answer. Whether face-to-face or other types of communication is better depends largely on the situations. Some people find that it is hard to open their mouths uttering a word when it comes to discuss about embarassing or private issues. In this case, they may prefer letters, emails, or telephone calls instead. Otherwise, it is natural for us to communicate face-to-face most of the time. Face-to-face communication is not just speaking in front of someone, but it is also abundant in many body language. When it comes to speak more persuasively and describe things more vividly, we tend to use body language to express spontaneously. Speaking to others face-to-face with a variety of tones and facial expressions makes it easier to be understood. Different tones and body expressions could lead to different receptions. This is why we may misunderstand others sometimes. Except for face-to-face communication, other types show few advantages about this; thus, it may not be interpreted correctly according to the speaker's will. However, these types of communication help us save time from waiting for others to become free to talk in person. Moreover, these kinds of communication shade embarrassment from talking about embarrassing events face-to-face. All the communication types are not perfect, but there are certainly plenty of different qualities for us to choose. Which one is better? It really depends on the circumstances. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 211.74.178.218 ※ 編輯: jennyQ 來自: 211.74.176.19 (05/16 11:09)
