If you could study a subject that you have never had the opportunity to
study, what would you choose? Explain your choice, using specific reasons
and details.
In today's world inundated with many kinds of subjects and knowledge,
although there are a lot of subjects which is very arresting me,
nevertheless, the most interesting subject for I is heat transfer. The
issue of the diversity of application and my interest illustrates why
it is so.
To begin with, as long as it exist the temperature difference between
two bodies or two elements, there are some heat exchanges or reactions
between them, so the applications and problems relative to heat transfer
are very vast from the bigger applications: ocean system and atmosphere
moving to the smaller applications: nano-technology and molecular reaction.
Because I see that heat transfer is the cornerstone of other subjects or
fields, if I would like to learn other difficult discipline, I have to
understand the basic concept of the discipline including heat transfer.
On the other hand, I regard heat transfer as math and calculus, if you
could learn those basic subjects well, I could acquire all kinds of
knowledge and information as much as I desire. That is why I think the
subject which is crucial and pragmatic worthy of studying.
Additionally, I very interest in increasing my computer's ability recently;
however, I discover that the computer's ability is limited by the central
process unit, CPU, and other chip module. Moreover, the CPU and chip module
is not only limited by their intrinsic ability but also constrained by their
operation environment. The most important factor of operation environment
is temperature; your computer would perform well as long as you could
maintain the temperature of your computer in a reasonable range. In addition,
your also could increase the performance if you could reduce the temperature
at the same time. However, how to control or reduce the temperature is not
a easy job relative to heat transfer, because if I could remove the heat
from my computer's case, the temperature is easily controlled. From the
reason I mentioned above, I think that if I could reform some elements in
my computer in order to improve the heat removing efficiency, I would spent
less money to getting a high performance computer. The knowledge of heat
transfer is essential for me to reform my computer.
In conclusion, although heat transfer is not the most popular subject, we
still could find many trails of heat transfer in our life, if I could
acquire the knowledge of heat transfer; I think that I could understand
lots of base concept of products. Moreover, I could solve many problems
relative to heat transfer and make something better.
