Some people think that the automobile has improved modern life. Others think
that the automobile has caused serious problems. What is your opinion? Use
specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Vehicle is one of the most important invention in the recent 100 years,
somebody believe that automobile improve our lives and make our lives more
efficient, nevertheless, I thinks that automobile also cause some problems
to our lives. The issue of pollution and energy waste illustrate why it is.
To begin with, "An Inconvenient Truth" is a very good course for us to think
how serious about our environment. Al Gore mentions that the density of our
earth is too high that causes greenhouse effect and the situation threaten
our lives. However, vehicle is no doubt that one of source causes greenhouse
effect; the outputs from car are not only carbon dioxide which the major
reason triggers greenhouse effect ,but also NOx which is harmful gas. The
reason is that the combination with NOx and water would form lots of acid
liquid and erode many things in the world, including soil, forest, many
buildings. The disadvantages of vehicle are not only air pollution which
are everyone knows, but also other unobvious disasters. If everybody uses
more public transportation and fewer vehicles, I believe that we will have
a cleaner earth in the future.
Additionally, the most popular issue recently is energy crisis. Although,
using automobile let people feel convenient to go to anywhere, the efficiency
of automobile energy is very low, approximately 10%, the other 90% is useless.
To be honest, automobile is a very inefficient transportation; moreover, we
can always see only one driver in a car, it is an irresponsible action of
waste energy. If people willing taking public transportation to replace
automobile, we will save more fossil fuel, and use them in other more
efficient way. From example, we can use the fossil fuel in electric generator,
and the electric energy is the power of subway system. From this way, we can
expect that we will alleviate our energy problem.
In conclusion, though the invention of automobile change people's lives and
decrease the time which people spent in traveling or commuting, automobile
also causes some problems which cannot be solved easily. If people still use
vehicle by this way, we can expect the whole human being will suffer the
disaster from over using automobile in the future.
