2. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Technology has made
the world a better place to live. Use specific reasons and examples to
support your opinion.
Since the year of Industrial Revolution, the pace of technology innovation
has been far behind we can imagine. However, a huge controversy is aroused
that whether the technology innovation does good for human. In my view, the
improvement of technologies to some extent is equal to the enhancement of
living standard, both physically and mentally.
According to the census, the average lifespan has been largely lengthened due
to advanced technologies. For example, edical technologies now are capable of
curing many diseases which were hopeless in the past; architectural
technologies prevent us from the threats of beasts; agricultural technologies
guarantee us food even in the drought. Moreover, technologies also give us a
colorful life. Internet technologies facilitate the connection with friends
worldwide and enable knowledge to be accessible immediately. In conclude, our
daily lives are full of various technologies that we can hardly live without
them.
Some environmental protectors might argue that technologies do harm to the
earth, such global warming. Even so; we cannot deny that there are still some
technologies which are environmental friendly. Recently a new technology of
bio-energy just announced. With this new method, the consumption of crude oil
would be cut substantially and consequently eliminate the emission of
hazardous ingredients. Therefore, we should not view only the negative side
of technologies.
To sum up, the technology innovation has upgraded our lives in various
aspects, not only material but also immaterial. Therefore, I believe our
future will be certainly further improved as long as we keep focusing on
technology developing.
