What discovery in the last 100 years has been most beneficial for people
in your country? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.

In my opinion, I believe that the invention of the Internet is the most
important discovery in the last 100 years. And a lot of people receive the
benefits from the Internet. My supporting ideas are as below, and the issue
of sharing knowledge and the saving time illustrate why it is.
To begin with, before the invention of the Internet, people need to spend lot
of time searching information. Nowadays, we all used to find some useful
knowledge from the Internet. Take Yahoo Knowledge as example, we can easily
find the answer which we long for there. Even we cannot find the answer; we
can post our questions and wait for others answering it for us. Moreover, it
is very popular for public to search information in Wikipedia, we just need
to type some key word, and the computer screen will show the whole message
related to the keyword. For the reason, I think that the Internet is a very
appropriate platform for people to exchange and search information.
Additionally, in today's world, it is very convenient for us to book our
train tickets or ask our hotel reservation by the Internet. In the case, we
don't need to have a trip to the hotel or train station in order to book
something which we want. The only one thing which we need to do is sit in
front of our computers and click our mouse and keyboard, and the Internet and
computer will help us to finish the whole things. Therefore, it saves lots of
time for us, and it not only makes our lives more efficient but also let us
having more time to do other things like reading or exercising. Furthermore,
there are lots of universities set many on-line courses for people, and
people can use those internet courses to broaden their views and improve
their skills without showing themselves in the campus. The system help people
save lots of time to acquire knowledge by the Internet.
In conclusion, though some people think that the Internet causes our lives
more terrible and lots of people spend too much time on the Internet like
playing on-line games. However, I guess that the advantages of the Internet
are more than its shortcomings absolutely. And the Internet changes our lives
style and makes our lives more efficient and interesting.
