[請益] 黃金閱讀的一些問題

把黃金閱讀做完了 但有一些問題想要請教:
3.Desert formation(p.22)
第十段說 The extreme seriousness of desertification results from the vast
areas of land and the tremendous numbers of people affected...
是指沙漠化影響地區和人民 但我一直覺得應該是人影響沙漠化
因為result from應該是後者影響前者不是嗎?
22.Petroleum resources(p.177)
第十四題第四個選項 Petroleum tends to rise to the surface, since it is lower
in density than water
我想請問這個選項為什麼錯 油密度比水小所以易在表面?
30.The geologic history of the Mediterranean(p.232)
第四題答案是1: it did not contain any marine fossil
可是我覺得答案是2: it had formed in open-ocean conditions
因為第三段裡面寫到sediment above nad below the gypsum layer contained tiny
marine fossils, indicating open-ocean conditions
是否是我對文章的理解有誤呢?
48.Which hand did they use(p.358)
第一段有一句ne also has to make the assumption that hands were stenciled palm
downward-a left hand stenciled palm upward might of course look as
if it were a right hand.
請問該如何翻?我看不懂這句意思?
