A-->6世紀的kilns good quality 不代表早期的ceramics 就是poor, 也有可能早期是normal quality. 在下認為除非有做古今比較否則直言斷定早期poor 太過武斷 C-->原文是寫"The earliest ceramics were fired to earthenware temperatures" 是earthenware temperatures 並非 earthenware ceramics. 文中只可得知 high-temperature stonewares在 15 B.C就存在但Earthenware ceramics 的年代並不知無從比較 : --------------------------------------------------------------------------- : Just as painted designs on Greek pots may seem today to be purely decorative, : 【whereas】 in fact they were carefully and precisely worked out so that at : the time, their meaning was clear, so it is with Chinese pots. : 還有這句話我一直看不太懂.... : 這句話是想表達Chinese pots和Greek pots雖然現在看起來好像只是個純粹的裝飾品 : 可是以前他們卻是有他們清楚的意義? 這樣理解是對的建議原po可以從後文連貫末句 "Only when European decorative themes were introduced did these meanings become obscured or even lost"" 意指原先在pot design 做出的當下都有自己清楚的意涵但當歐式裝飾性概念引入後這些意涵就因此模糊甚至消失了剛好重做一次這篇分享個人淺見謝謝 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 111.251.92.171
