是在說:就以往氣候變化的紀錄來了解到氣候的改變趨勢
(比如說溫度隨著季節不同而自然產生的變化趨勢紀錄)
in order to interpret (with confidence) the extent
為了能更有信心的來解釋 那個程度(範圍) ^^^^^^^^^^
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
來解是甚麼呢? to which 在這邊是在針對the extent
recent changes are natural 來解釋最近的改變是自然的合乎常理的
as opposed to being the results of human activities
當相較於那些人類活動所造成的結果
(所以as在這邊是'當'的意思)
