沒聽過關代當主詞不能省略，像含有necessary, present, ready 等字的關係子句常省略，形成後位修飾 (ex1~3)。更嚴謹應該說，形容詞通常習慣放在名詞前，而關代是放在名詞後面修飾，不過有時卻顯得累贅。(ex4~5)
[1] What are the key elements (which are) necessary for a valid agreement?
[2] The number of the people (who are) present at the concert was much
smaller than expected.
[3] And what do you do if you do not have the money (which is) ready for such
emergencies?
[4] 與其說 The girl who are young is my sister.
不如說 The young girl is my sister.
[5] 與其說 You should try to increase the number of customers who are
satisfied.
不如說 You should try to increase the number of satisfied customers.
所以 公司只想要滿意的客戶
翻成 our company wants satisfied customers 會簡潔些
