: 感謝! 3rd or 4th? If I had not gotten the blue book, I would probably go get the fourth edition, provided that the price is reasonable. On the other hand, since the English grammar doesn't get updated once every few years, maybe there is no such a dire need to get the LATEST edition, unless it comes with a HELPFUL Software, CD, or DVD that justifies the additional cost. By the way, do you know that many U.S. textbook publishers do that all the time as a strategy to prevent students from buying used books for their classes? For them, a best selling textbook is like a cash cow, one way to milk it is to UPDATE it once every few years. Since the publishers only sell the most current edition and since it is relatively difficult to order good quality used books in bulk, most classrooms typically surrender to such a business strategy and pay up wads of money as a result. English version or Chinese version? Of course water may get into our nostrils and make us choke once in a while, and surely it is psychologically comforting to hold on to something we're familiar with; I know I may be stoned for saying this, but isn't it time to let go of our swim rings if we are serious about swimming? Azar books are written for ESL people, so they are already explaining grammatical concepts in simple english. If I don't find myself understanding the English texts in the blue book, maybe the correct thing to do is to settle for the black or even the red book for the time being. There is absolutely no shame in this thing; like many people, I learned it the hard way. Believe me, take my word for it and get the English version. If you find yourself totally alone in this thing, check this site out, and think about why the rest of the world is learning English the "HARDER" way. Maybe, I am just guessing here, there is no other way? http://www.english-test.net/forum/ cheers ^^ -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 202.169.165.62
