因為在那個句子裡，在用虛擬語氣。
I avoid; you avoid; he/she/it avoid;
we avoid; you avoid; they avoid
I be; you be; he/she/it be;
we be; you be; they be
陳述語氣通常只有一個差別：
I avoid; you avoid; he/she/it avoids;
we avoid; you avoid; they avoid
I am; you are; he/she/it is;
we are; you are; they are
那個句子以為記者還沒有言過其實甚麼(不能要求已發生的事情會哪樣做)，
所以我們要用虛擬語氣表示那個意思。
The news editor requested that his reporters avoid exaggerating
the severity of the seasonal storms.
Parents often demand that their kids be great students.
不過這樣的虛擬語氣無法表示再想像的、已經確定的事實。在那些情況下
應該用"過去"虛擬語氣。
