美國那個叫 針灸師(ACUPUNCTURIST).....
不過要看各州法律 大部分禁止自稱醫師(DOCTOR)
以針灸師聚集人數大宗的加州為例:
Q. CAN AN ACUPUNCTURIST CALL THEMSELF A DOCTOR?
A. See California Code of Regulations, Title 16, Section 1399.456.
1399.456. Use of the Title "Doctor".
It is unprofessional conduct for an acupuncturist to use the title
"Doctor" or the abbreviation "Dr." in connection with the practice of
acupuncture unless he or she possesses a license or certificate which
authorizes such use or possesses an earned doctorate degree from an
accredited, approved or authorized educational institution as set forth under
Article 4 (commencing with section 94760) of Chapter 7 of Part 59 which is in
acupuncture, Oriental medicine, a biological science, or is otherwise related
to the authorized practice of an acupuncturist as set forth in Section 4927
and 4937 of the Code.

基本上 針灸師在美國人眼中 大概跟 按摩師 理髮師 相同
差別只在於 針灸師需要規定的醫學歷
然後才能報考針灸師執照
針灸師考試的錄取率難度....大概比台灣的大學聯考低一點吧
所以.....
光從這點就可以看出
美國中"醫師" 跟 台灣人心目中"醫師"的地位 差太多啦
地位說白一點 就是收入啦
