[徵求] 讀書會:高中英文教師甄試(台北)
Hello! My name is Tiffany.
I graduated from graduate school
and finished my internship at a senior high school in Taipei last summer.
I've decided to take the teachers' screening tests for senior high school
teachers this summer, so I'm looking for people who have set the same goal.
I hope that we can meet once a week, have discussions,
and exchange our ideas and experiences.
The book we can study together is "Teaching by Principles"
written by H. Douglas Brown, published in 2001.
No doubt studying teaching principles is only one of the many things
we need to prepare for the coming screening tests.
Actually, I think studying the book together can serve as a springboard,
and that we may extend our discussion further.
Here is a rough idea of how I think the study group will be conducted:
．We take turns giving a presentation of the assigned chapter(s) every week.
．The presenter makes a handout (with the outline of the chapter),
gives a sufficient summary of the chapter, offers some discussion questions,
and gives a few examples of how the theories introduced in the chapter
can be put into practice.
．Other members also share their ideas and experiences.
．All the discussions are conducted in English.
．The maximum of participants is five.
Here are the times that I am available to meet:
．Thursday afternoon and evening
．Friday afternoon
．Saturday evening
We can meet in a coffee shop near Taipei Main Station,
NTNU (Shi Da) or NTU (Tai Da).
If you are interested in joining this study group,

It would be better if you introduce yourself a little bit,
for example, the school and department you graduated from,
the school where you did (or are doing) your internship,
your previous teaching experience (as a tutor or a teacher in cram schools),
and your expectations and suggestions for our study group.
Don't forget to specify the time slots when you are available
and the place you prefer to meet.
Nothing is finalized. Please feel free to give any suggestions.
Then we can meet and discuss further details together as a group.
