Humans may also become infected by ingesting the inadequately cooked flesh
of infected flesh of intermediate hosts (e.g., goats,sheep) containing
infective "larvae". In the latter instance, the infective larvae migrate
from the stomach to the nasopharyngeal tissues, where they develop into adult
pentastomids and produce the symptoms of the "halzoun syndrome".
