It is a condition of employment that the PhD has been awarded. Candidates must have a strong background in climate modelling, and should have good knowledge of climate dynamics. Excellent skills are required in programming in large community code and performing simulations with general circulation models on super computers and analysis of observations and model data. Experience with climate prediction and with any of the following earth system model NorESM, MPI-ESM, or EC-EARTH, and with data assimilation in earth system models would be beneficial.
