[文法] 請問這句英文怎麼分析?

我覺得是SVO+that子句, that子句當O的同位語,
但在their的前面可以省略that嗎?
老師說that不能省略, 且that子句是inkling的補語
句型變成SVOC, 可是我感覺不出那個語意
We appoint him chairman. 這句跟上句句型不同吧
又說 numbers of 好像不對, 要改成 a number of, 這個我覺得文章沒問題...
大家覺得呢?
