你說的應該就是修辭法的代喻(synecdoche)，
另一個廣義來說也算的是 轉喻 (metonymy)。
代喻(synecdoche): is a figure of speech in which a term for
a part of something refers to the whole of something, or vice versa.
Ex1: We passed ten winters. (winter=year)
我們度過了十年。
轉喻 (Metonymy): is a figure of speech in which a thing or concept
is called not by its own name but rather by the name of
something assiociated in meaning with that thing or concept.
Ex2: He chose a gun instead of a cap and gown. 他棄文從武。
Ex3: The kettle is boiling over. 水滾了
