在1994年電影The Enemy Within判國大陰謀，
大概4分40秒時，
General Lloyd對男主角Colonel Mac Casey抱怨
總統要削減軍費。
Lloyd: The president may be a good man,
but he doesn't know shit about national defense.
At least when his wife was alive,
he had a reality barometer,
The way things were going election day,
nobody bothered to ask him about it.
請問最後一句The way things were going election day,
nobody bothered to ask him about it.
好像在說總統繼續這樣下去，將來選舉日他就慘了。
但were和bothered時態好怪，
所以想請教。
