Speed and stability
There are two principles highly emphasized when doing things; one is
speed and sability is the other. Speed is doing something quickly without too
muc hesitation, which means the economizations of time. Stability is doing one
thing peacefully with calm, delicacy and smoothness, which means the ensurance
of fulfillment.
As the world is becoming more and more complex, the significance of
speed and stability grows much higher than in ancient times. Studying,
fulfilling tasks, playing for hobbies or amusements, and sleep, occupy most
people's day and night time. Thus, any piece of our time has become much more
precious, and there is no leisure life anymore. We are always competing with
others nowadays, and the efficiency of using time is the matter that really
counts in our lives. Particularly, doing things with spped and stability is a
kind of ability we own when confronted with time-consuming or huge tasks with
many details. For any person, speed means not only doing things quickly, but
also how nice his energy, strength, and acuteness are. If one can carry out one
thing with a fast speed but dosen't make a mess of it, he must be in full vigor
and have a healthy mind. Stability means doing things well in all details with
delicacy at a steady pace. It means the ripeness of mind and the fact that he
has undertaken sufficient experiences and gained enough knowledges. The
advantages of speed and stability is manifest. They have more time to do other
things, and their performance and the fruit of working excel others'. Some days
later, they would become more and more popular among their comrades, and thus
it's easier for them to be promoted.
However, doing thing things with speed and stability is not easy. As an
old saying goes, "Haste makes waste.", spped and stability seems to contradict
to each other. If one only tries to do things more quickly without enough
attention on it, he tends to do it perfunctorily and make it a mess; but if he
dose one thing with too much caution and only wants to make it faultless, he
might be tardy or sluggish in fulfilling it. I think that the twoo abilities
spped and stability are the same important, and we shouldn't be partial to any
of the two. According to an ancient Chinese wisdom, we had better according to
the middle of the way.
In short, spped and stability are two indepenent abilities. If one aims
at the goal of uplifting the fruits of his works to the highest, it's better
for him to make a good schedule for doings things and dose things according to
his feelings and emotions. If so, he can adjust his attention on spped and
stability to the best, and will have a better consequence.
