※ 引述《annfeel (da bin)》之銘言: : I have been dream about studying abroad, but i have no idea how to be an : international student. All the problems such as expenses, test, living and so : on. Some people tell me to ask the teachers, but I have no any idea and : knowlenge about studying abroad, so I don't know what to ask first. Is there anyone : who can give me some advice. I hope to study for improving my english and : spanish. I guess i will put my 2cents into this... the test part u can probably find in those college review books, u know the ones that got a bunch of schools and their requirements (SAT, GRE, GMAT, etc). also like other people have mentionsed, you have to figure out what degree do you plan on getting... also it helps if u got family member there like an uncle or cousin, it will help u get situated much faster, like for example, they can take u around to get your driver liscense, show u the closest grocery store, etc. but if u dont have any family member there, then i guess for the first year u can try living in the dorms, u will meet alot of different people. if u are lucky like me, your roommate will help u in anything that your need.. as for the expenses, it varies among schools, but compare to in-state students us international students are usually 3-4 times their cost.... like my old school UC-Davis, each year is divided into 3 quaters, and each quater cost 4000 USD in tuition ONLY, my roomate is californian citizen this tuition is only 1500...living expenses varies if u are getting a car or not, usually insurance varies alot. This is when u need someone to take u around town to shop for insurance. The rent also varies from state to state big state like Texas the rent is cheaaaaaaaaap~~~ but when i get to california the least amount of rent that i pay was 650 a month... I had a car there also, so when u count it...it usually takes around 1million taiwanese dollar for each year the internet is really convinient right now, u can check http://www.rent.com/ for the renting prices for the apartments the tuition part u just have to ask the school you are interested in hope that helps...sorry if its too long XD -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.174.246.204
