I think what the host of ICRT said is 100% right!
English education in Taiwan in the past focused too much on
reading and writing skills.
So, most students have spent more than 10 years studying English, but still
can't talk in it with foreigners.
It's really a pity.
Good news is, recently, more and more people (kisd and adults) try to promote
their speaking and listening.
Some people go to some private institutes like GVO for practicing speaking.
Some people try to organize study groups on the Internet.
I was very lucky to join a study group days before.
And, my host and I had the first meeting this morning.
Though we didn't have a specific topic to talk about, we really had a
great time in chatting in English.
I am also very happy to find someone who can practice with me through Skype
in weekday morning.
I notice that many people want to find someone to practice English
through Skype, but they are only available at night or on the weekend.
But....
But....
All my night time and weekend are occupied...
If if if....
If someone who is also available in weekday morning, please let me know.
Maybe we can be good partners^_^
