Let's talk about you guys' library behaviors. Working and walking in the library, I always get cross when I find lots of books intentionally misplaced, randomly shoved, and carelessly piled. More often than not, the book on the 1st layer is hidden on the last layer; the book of the 13th shelf is spotted on the 31th shelf; the book belonging to the 7th floor is found on the 9th floor. Is it fun doing so? For many times, students and faculties came to the counter, saying that they could not find a book. I would always ask if they had looked around in other shelves. If they said yes, I could not refuse to help. (If they said no, I still had to help...) Under this condition, I would give them a form of "Book Finding Assistance," and it is the part-time students' job to find the request book(s). The errands always belong to the PT students. The librarians deal with much bigger matters....(perhaps I can term it so) If I found the requested book(s), I would be very happy. If not, I would curse the person who misplaced it/them (in mind...= =) I always can't understand how hard it is to put back well/neatly the book you randomly browse. There are some sections which are really "infernos" for PT students when when we are shelving, especially the sections of books of computer, novels, and English learnings. After we arrnage those carelessly placed books, it turns to "inferno" in an unimaginable speed.....Orz === Apart from that, I also dislike those who bring foods and drinks into the library. I think it is a common sense that foods and drinks are not allowed in the library...Orz === Even so, I still love working at the library. =__=" Kind of self-abuse... XD === It seems to turn into a complaint...= =a -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 220.134.14.184

Many librarys demand that book should be placed in

sector collecting boxes after finishing, instead of

"Return to origin", since most people don't have a

clue where or how they spotted their books at all

There are many carts for those got-lost books

06/29 12:01, , 6F
It's also a drudge to collect them Orz

As a frequent library goer, I've been quite familiar
06/29 13:56, 7F

06/29 13:57, , 8F
with where certain category of books are put, since
06/29 13:57, 8F

06/29 13:57, , 9F
I formed a habit of putting back in place those books
06/29 13:57, 9F

06/29 13:58, , 10F
if just for printing or browsing purposes
06/29 13:58, 10F

06/29 13:58, , 11F
that way it also ensures I could easily have access to

books the next day without resorting again to the

computers, due to sometimes their slow progress
06/29 14:01, 13F

06/29 14:02, , 14F
I mean if I just left anywhere after use
06/29 14:02, 14F

06/29 14:02, , 15F
I would have to wait for extra days before the book
06/29 14:02, 15F

06/29 14:02, , 16F
appeared on the shelf again
06/29 14:02, 16F

06/29 14:03, , 17F
but if I, just as any other people, could 'bother'
06/29 14:03, 17F

06/29 14:03, , 18F
myself to return the precious resources to the positio
06/29 14:03, 18F

06/29 14:04, , 19F
where it belongs....
06/29 14:04, 19F

06/29 15:02, , 20F
ideally ppl should leave them on the cart, and the
06/29 15:02, 20F

06/29 15:02, , 21F
efficient library staffs should sort them cuz that
06/29 15:02, 21F

06/29 15:03, , 22F
is a part of their job after all...
