Yesterday was my first meeting with my supervisor and co-workers since I started this job 3 weeks ago. And it is a meeting about layoff. They are letting a senior writer go, the person they hired 3 months ago. I haven't got a chance to get to know him and he is gone soon. Yes, the economy is at its downturn. But what made me upset is the way the management make decisions like this. It shows they are arbitrary and they don't respect professionalism. It made me think twice if I am going to stick to what I like rather than what I can make a living with.So the senior writer is going to be unemployed when he has Thanksgiving meal this year, unfortunately. As for political debate and TV news in Taiwan, it is all vicious cycle. ※ 引述《wnwangster (Wei)》之銘言: : So my friend received an unpleasant surprise when he came into office : yesterday, and before he fully realized what had just happened, he was already : holding his packaging box and became officially unemployed. I think so too. I'd probably be the one to get laid off : if I were still in the States.
