I'm mentally at a crossroad. I have a reasonable job, paying reasonable wages, with reasonable benefits and in a relaxed environment. I have a lot of free time after work (yes I get off work at 5 if not earlier) and can put away some money every month after rent and expenses. My boss loves me and I handle something at work that only I can do, so my job is secure for now. I'm single and unattached. I have a graduate degree, but in a very narrow field. Should I stay at my reasonable job and use my savings to buy a reasonable house, and thus settle down for a reasonable life, or go back to school for an advanced degree? Going for an advanced degree is damned expensive, and I'll blow my savings (and likely take on debt), lose my reasonably relaxed lifestyle, and I may not get a better job out of it, given the business climate. I just want to hear people's thoughts on this. -- 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life Trying to make ends meet, You're a slave to money then you die -Bittersweet Symphony, The Verve -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 70.166.3.190

I guess the issues are that 1) my life right now is rather uninteresting, 2) is this all there is? (damn I'm having a midlife crisis, lol) 3) is it too late to pursue my dream, or too risky to sink my savings into it? ※ 編輯: tengharold 來自: 70.166.3.190 (08/12 02:34)

"Better late than never" is right :) At least I can start with taking the standardized tests and see if I actually have a shot - those aren't THAT expensive (when compared to the cost of the actual education)... ※ 編輯: tengharold 來自: 70.166.3.190 (08/13 02:05)
