Absolutely the music is able to move every audience. But, will the guy, who might cause the next violence, sit in the auditorium? If the answer is positive, it is successful. Free music is not the answer. It depends. You shall hear the piece“An American Elegy”composed by Frank Ticheli. This song is in memorial of the people who died at Columbine High School in 1999. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIIKdBYfmlo
It is the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. However, the terrorism never stops within these ten years… Well, Frank did nothing wrong, and I don’t have the answer either. But there must be something else that musicians can do. Instead of saying“We’ll never yield the violence!”proudly. That doesn’t help. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 142.136.127.126 ※ 編輯: reedy 來自: 128.125.25.40 (05/01 23:39)
