[Ask ] explanation of the sentence
I read a sentence from an article in business magazine, and not
quite certain about what the contributor meant, it goes as follow
xxx's writing is witty and anecdotal, and his advice will do more good
than harm, but if his aim is to impart understanding, the book(XXXX)
is an opportunity squandered.
ps: xxx is the anthor of XXXX
My question is what does opportunity squandered mean?
I looked up the word across all the online dictionaries, I haven't
been sure of it yet.
Does it mean the opportunity is a "rare catch"? or something else?
Additionally, the contributor put it in a positive light or negative one?
the word "squander" is used in a negative way now, that's why it confuses
me.
ask for advice , so grateful.
