How about keeping a pocket-sized vocabulary notebook?
Write down a word's spelling, Chinese definition, usage, and pronunciation.
Review these information when you have spare time. Keep doing this.
If you review a word for about 7 times, it is very likely that you will
memorize it much better than encountering it in an essay.
Vocabulary is the basic of learning a foreign language. Keep reading and
memorizing new words. The more you read and memorize, the better you will
remember them. :)
