這句的句型可以化簡為
so A bla bla bla, so B bla bla bla, that...
如果 that 沒有前面那個逗點的話，
那 that 就會只有修飾第二個子句 而不會修飾到第一個子句。
Ron 意思是說 那兩個逗號都是整個句子結構的一部分
也就是說 "so persistent... " 這個子句呢 是被兩個逗號包起來的插入句
然後要讓這個插入句合乎文法結構要求的話 前後的兩個逗號都是必要的
也就是說 這個句子是像是這樣看
So dogged... (, so persistent... ,) that
這樣看的話 so... that... 的結構會不會比較清楚呢?
