Re: [字彙] dictate as a noun
: by M-W
: 1 a : an authoritative rule, prescription, or injunction
: b : a ruling principle
: 2 : a command by one in authority
Longman說,
dictate: an order, rule, or principle that you have to obey
例句
1.teenagers following the dictates of fashion.
2.The city's policy clearly violates the dictates of the Fair Labor
Standards Act.
3.Human beings are going to resist cultural dictates that are too
inconsistent with their innate desires.
4.When I was very young, the things I wanted to do were not permitted
by social dictates.
Collins
1.[usu with supp, oft N of n]
A dictate is an order which you have to obey.
例句
Their job is to ensure that the dictates of the Party are followed.
2.[usu pl, with supp, usu N of n]
Dictates are principles or rules which you consider to be extremely
important.
例句
We have followed the dictates of our consciences and have done
our duty.
Oxford說,
[usually pl.]
(formal) an order or a rule that you must obey
例句
to follow the dictates of fashion
M-W
1 a : an authoritative rule, prescription, or injunction
2,the dictates of the Fair Labor Standards Act
b : a ruling principle
Longman
例句1,...the dictates of fashion.
例句3....cultural dictates...
例句4....social dictates...
和Collins 例句2. ...the dictates of our consciences...
以及Oxford中的例句...the dictates of fashion
2 : a command by one in authority
1, ...the dictates of the Party
