asylum (n) 庇護 (通常指政治庇護)
protection that a government gives to people who have left their own
country, usually because they were in danger for political reasons
If a government gives a person from another country asylum, they allow
them to stay, usually because they are unable to return home safely for
political reasons.
extradition (n) 引渡 -> 動詞為 extradite
If someone is extradited, they are officially sent back to their own or
another country to be tried for a crime that they have been accused of.
所謂的 "引渡" 基本上就是 "遣返回母國 (接受審判)"
所以就一個國家政府的立場，當其他國家的政治犯逃到本國，政府可以有兩個選擇
1) 提供政治庇護
2) 遣返回母國接受審判
所以基本上 asylum : extradition 是 "反義" 關係!
例如前陣子新疆的熱比亞女士若成功來台，我國政府就會面臨這個問題
而泰國前總理塔克辛目前流亡海外 (尋求政治庇護)，但他國也可以選擇 "引渡" 他
如此一來就完全明白為什麼要選 continuity : termination 了吧!
