I think that progress is not always good. Having acquired many benefits from
progress, we should still notice that it sometimes leads to severe side
effects.
For example, industrial revolution, the most prominent progress in human
history, has totally changed lives of people, who live in a convenient modern
society now. When factories were built up in series, the harm to environment
was also drastic and almost hard to imagine. Moreover, human was so proud of
their great achievement that they overlooked the negative effects caused by
progress. When people realized that they should stop their pace and try
doing something to save their mistakes, it was too late.
From the above example, we can realize that progress do not always bring
positive results. But, on the other hand, we should also notice that progress
is an essential trend in human history. It can almost be viewed as human
nature. The most vital thing is not to cease the trend of progression. Instead,
we should pay more attention to the possible negative results while enjoying
the benefits from progress.
