Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology
is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to
support your opinion.

In today’s world inundated with lots of technological products, such cell
phone, computer, and the Internet, for the reason, some people believe that
those technological products become global village and unite our diversity of
cultures. However, I think that though those technological products change
our life style, our diversity of cultures is still existed. My supporting
ideas are as below and illustrate why it is.
To begin with, take my country, Taiwan, as example, the cultures existed in
North Taiwan and South Taiwan are different. Although, the improvement of
technology makes our North Taiwan residents to know the culture of South
Taiwan more, it doesn't make our cultures unite. The typical breakfasts in
North Taiwan and South Taiwan are different. The residents of North Taiwan
are used to eat some simple breakfasts like hamburger or sandwich, but the
residents of South Taiwan are used to eat more complex breakfasts like beef
noodles or rice-noodles. The reason is that the life styles are different
between North and South Taiwan. The life style of North Taiwan is much like
commercial society, but the life style of South Taiwan is much like
industrial and agricultural society. Therefore, even though Taiwan is not a
big island and technology is very popular in today's world, the differences
between two cultures are still existed.
Additionally, take regional action as example, even in the 21 century, a
high-tech century, there are still many different region existed in the
world. The different regions own the different rituals and ceremonies.
Moreover, there are different traditions among those regions. Some people are
restricted to eat beef. Some people are not allowed to eat pork. The others
are allowed to have more than a wife. Therefore, we can know those
technological products give us more accesses to understand other cultures
which are different to us rather than make those different cultures unite. In
the past, people easily misunderstand other people, because they don't
realize others' culture. Nowadays, thanks to the technology, we have more
chances to understand others' culture and it also decrease the cultural
conflict between people. It is no doubt that the technology doesn't make our
combine those cultures together.
In conclusion, from those reasons I mentioned above, we can know the progress
of technology doesn't unite our lives or cultures. The major purpose of
technology is to make our life more efficient and convenient rather than
decrease the diversity of our lives.
