First, I constructed several variables to indicate mothers’ educational level in every wave, mothers’ changes in educational level between waves. Then, I constructed two variables to represent children’s school performance, one for cognitive and another for non-cognitive measurement. I used a series of OLS regression models, including lagged dependent variable models, and used multiple coding strategies for my independent variable. Further, I used propensity score weighting to compare the difference in the estimated effects of the treatment on the control and treated groups.
