http://matmodel.engr.wisc.edu/Positions/Postdoc_NM_2010.html ================================================================== Postdoctoral Positions Computational Materials Group at University of Wisconsin – Madison http://matmodel.engr.wisc.edu/ Postdoctoral Position in Modeling of Nuclear Materials We invite applications for multiple postdoctoral positions in the Computational Materials Group at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The area of research is modeling of nuclear materials, with a focus on atomic scale simulations. Areas of application include molten salt thermokinetic properties and corrosion electrochemistry, radiation induced segregation and precipitation in martensitic/ferritic steels, radiation effects in ZrC, and fission product transport in fuel coatings. The research will integrate atomic scale energetics with thermodynamic and kinetic modeling to develop meso- and macroscale models from the atomic level. A PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry or a related field is required. Familiarity with one or more of ab initio calculations, molecular simulations, and thermodynamic/kinetic modeling is preferred, but capable and enthusiastic applicants with any background will be considered. The research will develop broadly applicable skills and understanding and we encourage applications from those with a range of materials and modeling interests. The appointments are initially for one year with possible extension. Interested applicants should send a CV in PDF format and contact information for 3 references to Brian Puchala at puchala@wisc.edu. Review of applicants will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Computational Materials Group (CMG) (http://matmodel.engr.wisc.edu/): CMG is a joint effort of Izabela Szlufarska and Dane Morgan in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at UW Madison. We are a highly active group, with about 25 members and work in areas including nanomechanics, nano-bio interfaces, energy materials, and geophysics. -- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 72.33.133.149
