根據 AP 的報導，Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences 頒獎給他的理由是
"deepened our understanding of the relation between short-run and
long-run effects of economic policy"。
目前的新聞報導還不多，他確定是獨自一個人拿到這個獎項。
這是 Columbia University 經濟系在過去十一年內的第四個諾貝爾獎，包括
於得獎後不久過世的 William Vickrey。
