[單字] 請問utilitarianism, many
第一個: utilitarianism
英漢字典寫「功利主義」，但是我查了兩本英英字典，似乎不是這個意思。
Oxford: the belief that the right course of action is the one that will
produce the greatest happiness of the greatest number of people.
Macmillan: the belief that something is morally right if it helps a majority
of people.
照這兩本字典字面上的意義，utilitarianism應該是指「為大眾謀福利的信念」
功利主義有負面的意義。
第二個: many a ...
中文: 破帽之下多好人 (翻譯的技巧--錢歌川)
英文: There is many a good man to be found under a shabby hat.
為什麼要用many a good man, 而不是many men??
