[請益] 幾個疑問..
有幾個問題想請教大家：
1. 我不是很懂 "over" 在這裡的用法:
"The 'kiddush', which is recited to usher in Shabbat and other festivals,
is a blessing made over wine to symbolize the tranformation of
secular time into holy time."
Kiddush 是禱文之類的頌詞，
請問 a blessing over wine 是指 為酒祈福、祝禱 還是 用酒祈福、祝禱 呢？
over 在這裡的用法，跟 "We'll discuss it over lunch" 是否不同？
還有什麼類似的句子可以用來解釋 over 在這裡的用法呢？
2. 專家建議父母，在性、喝酒等等方面定下規矩：
Make rules that let you stand dull and tall and consistent:
- You are not permitted to drink at parties.
- You are not permitted to attend parties where no adult is present.
- We don't want you home with your boyfriend when no adult is in the house,
and your door must remain open where he is in your room.
請問這裡的 stand dull and tall and consistent 裡，
stand tall 和 stand consistent 都還能理解，但 stand dull... 是什麼意思呢？
3. 和青春期子女談喝酒、藥物、性愛，比...來得困難？
Having conversations with your teen about drinking, drugs, and sex is
more difficult than prescribing that you have one.
請問這裡的 prescribing that you have one,
是指 "直接對子女說 你有某方面的問題 (酗酒/上癮/對性的態度隨便)" 的意思嗎？
還是別的意思呢？
4. I have a friend who is thinking about kissing another girl.
請問，在沒有說明這位 friend 性別的情況下，
可從 "another" girl 推測那位朋友也是 girl 嗎？（女孩想親吻女孩）
還是我想太多了？... ~_~
5. 作者提到，拉拔孩子這麼多年，要在他們變成青少年時縮手並不容易：
After building the habits of prodding and ushering and supporting and
tending, it can be hard to pull back and simply look up and around and
forward. But you will.
請問，這裡的 look up and around and forward,
最後的 (look) forward 是指往前看、繼續走下去對嗎？
那前面的 look up and around 又是甚麼意思呢？

這裡的 ever-ready 感覺是精明能幹的意思，但在網路辭典上都查不到這個詞...
我要怎麼確定這個詞的意義呢？有哪裡查得到嗎？
