[請益] 字典中，one的解釋
大家好，請問一下：
在OALD中看到這樣的解釋，
one
PRONOUN
(formal) used to mean ‘people in general’ or ‘I’, when the speaker is
referring to himself or herself

想請教的是，後面寫when the speaker is referring to himself or herself，這配合
'I'可以理解，但搭配‘people in general’就很奇怪。因為既然是講者指他/她自己，
那又怎麼會和‘people in general’有關係呢？
而且‘people in general’是複數，但the speaker是單數，怎麼看都不合啊。
請教這個解釋該如何理解呢？謝謝！
