Re: [請益] never mind 和forget it的差別？
Is it natural to say “Never mind/ Forget it” in the following circumstances
?
1. when you walk in a restaurant for dinner, but the receptionist says it’s
fully-booked, you can still leave your phone number on a waiting list, but
you decide to seek another restaurant instead.
2. You want to buy item A in a shop but it’s sold out, the staff then
recommends you an item B, in which you have no interest.
Does it sound rude? Or any other phrases you would suggest?

(BrE) For 1: "Never mind" is ok. "Forget it" is rude. "Not to worry ... (,
we'll try somewhere else)" is another alternative.
AmE speakers may have other preferences, such as "that's too bad", etc.
For 2: "No thanks" or "never mind".
