: These two sentences are extracted from a poem " There's Always Weather"
: There's always weather , weather ,
: Whether we like it or not.
: Some days are nice and sunny,
: Sunny and bright and hot.
: There's always weather , weather ,
: Whether we like it or don't.
: Sometimes so cold and cloudy!
: Will it soon snow , or won't?
: What's the difference? >"<
well...if those two sentences are extracted from a poem,
i think it can explains why it's got a sentence such as
" Whether we like it or don't"
it's all about rhymes.
if u seperate the poem into two parts,
in the first part, the last word of "Whether we like it or not" is "not",
which rhymes with the last word of the last sentence of part 1, "hot".
likewise,in the 2nd part the author uses the word "don't"
to rhymes with "won't"
therefoe, i don't think the sentence " Whether we like it or don't."
is grammatically correct.
events like this can occur a lot in poems or song lyrics.
you may consult the dictionary for the right way to use the word "whether"
