Today was a happy day~ Didn't do anything special, but just enjoying not stressing about assignments etc for a change. :) I sat in front of the TV eating an orange, and decided to watch a random program just to pass the time that I was eating. And as I watched people on TV doing all kinds of crazy things, I laughed at the funny parts, and got a little bit worried at the serious parts. But all along, I knew that it was just a TV show. While it could affect my emotions temporarily and mildly, I remain more or less the same at the end of watching the show, I turn off the TV, and forget about what I just saw, and continued what I was doing before. It was at that stage that I wondered what life is about. Now that sounds like a very serious question but it's not really. I was thinking about it in a rather light-hearted way. Right away, I think I figured a common mis-conception that people sometimes have. Perhaps it's from the media, or even as a child, you hear stories about great achievements in live, about great warriors, and excitement, and we all believed that life is a great adventure. However, if we all think carefully, I'm sure we've all done some exciting things in life, had some wonderful adventures, and very eventful times. But really though, if you take away all those moments, you would find that most of the time, life is really quite ordinary. You go through more or less the same pattern from day to day, and the funny thing is, no matter how interesting and varied your particular lifestyle might be to some people, anything that is done repeatedly WILL become routine. At for you, that will just be part of your ordinary day, part of your life. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily so. It really depends on how you feel about it. I think the greatest happiness is not about a particular event or achievement that everyone considers desirable, but it's being happy to be yourself, being content to be living the life that you are living. Take winning Lotto for example. Would it make me happy? Sure, of course. And I'm sure it will make anyone happy. But the truth is, no matter how extremely happy you were about winning a particular lotto, it is just one distinct event. It will pass, and the feelings will pass. And once that feeling is gone, you will be back to the same as before. Living a happy life will not pass though. Because it is continuous. If you are truly content, that feeling will stay~ I think I might've mentioned this before, but the one most important thing to me is to be happy. I want to feel happy about being who I am, about the life that I'm living, and be content. :) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 210.246.4.104
